"X" is a Brilliantly Originally Horror Movie

I honestly believe this movie is going to quickly become a classic for horror movie fans.
At first, this movie slipped under my radar. My roommate Zoe has a bloodthirsty drive to unwind to a horror movie, using the thrilling cinematic elements to connect with others as she watches. Over time, by association of living status and to see what all the buzz was about, I came to the conclusion that I could not be a coward any longer. And as a result, I have fallen in love with blood, jump-scares and horror, and how powerful the genre can be when examining different relevant themes.
"X" is brilliantly original when it comes to a genre that has recently been flooded with re-boots and extraneous sequels (sorry Michael Myers fans). Through an hour and forty-five minute storytelling experience, the viewer is transported back to a time of blue eyeshadow, pornography in the home video market, and Coca-Cola in glass bottles. The tantalizing themes of sexuality, morality and human instinct create a pulse thumping experience for those that decide to ride it out. (I had to throw some innuendos into the review, they are shooting a porno after-all).
"X" movie rating: 8/10
The movie is easily rewatchable, exciting through the cinematic narrative, and makes our morality derogatory and simultaneously hard to watch. There are scenes that are pretty gut-wrenching, and if you are prone to be squeamish (especially with blood and guts, or slasher aspects) you may have a few scenes in which you need to turn away.
If the only reason you need to watch is for the cast, Kid Cudi does a standout job, Brittany Snow blows us all away with her beauty, and Mia Goth deserves all the accolades that I know of. Portraying both the main characters is no small feat, but she does it so seamlessly that we did not even realize it until the credits started to roll.
